Erin Storey has made huge impacts to my riding and overall horse and eventing knowledge. Her passion for the sport, horses and for her students, no matter what level, make her an incredibly engaged trainer. She has an ability to describe things to the most green rider in an understandable way. Being an adult amateur who started riding later in life, I have appreciated her patience and commitment as I continued to keep trying and not always succeeding!! She helped me with my decision to change horses and helped me with getting to know my new much more athletic horse in a safe way that improved my riding even further. She has an energy and work ethic that just doesn’t quit and is willing to go above and beyond for students who do the same.

Erin Storey is such an asset to any horse community. Both my daughter and I have taken regular lessons with her for years. Erin has trained and sold horses for me as well. She is passionate about her students and about all things horse. Very generous with her time and so devoted to positive outcomes for riders and horses alike. She has built a tremendous team. We miss her dearly here in Idaho and she has been impossible to replace as a valuable resource for education and support. Folks on the east coast have really gained something special in her move to that area.

Storey Tails provides absolutely outstanding instruction and coaching from beginners through upper level eventing. They go above and beyond to provide their students and the horses they train with an incredibly supportive and engaging environment which allows them to excel and surpass expectations. My daughter absolutely loves to ride but she is also quite timid and I just loved seeing her gain confidence in not only her riding but in herself. I think the lessons she learned under Storey Tails guidance will always stay with her. I will always be so grateful~thank you!!

I started riding with Erin winter of 2023 when my little Mustang and I were desperate for help with jumping. Our hopes of jumping safely and competently were crumbling. Racing to fences with the nose straight up in the air just wasn’t an option anymore, so I joined Erin’s lesson program. I knew it was a match during my first lesson. Erin’s straight-forward, effective approach and no-nonsense style was precisely what my opinionated little Mustang and I needed. By spring of 2024, Erin had us righted and well on our way, competing competently at recognized events. I have to admit, my heart felt a little crushed when Erin announced her move to the east coast. But my loss is the east coast’s gain, and I am excited for those who have access to Erin for instruction and training…

Losing Erin as a local trainer was more than disappointing for me and my daughter, but we take heart to know how many more she will have the opportunity to guide and grow in Virginia horse country.
