Lessons

Emily has over 25 years of riding experience from bareback beginnings to 4-H and as a young teenager she found her love for Eventing and dressage. She went through the ranks of Pony Club and graduated with her H-A and holds a B level rating in both Eventing and Dressage.

Prior to getting her Master’s degree in nutrition and working her “non-horsey” career as a Registered Dietitian, Emily spent several years as a working student for top level eventers both in Lexington, KY and in Idaho. Following her working student positions she worked under the tutelage of local upper level rider, Stephanie Goodman, throughout her college career and beyond. Emily competed as an amatuer in both eventing and dressage for several years, but eventually her love of teaching and riding brought her back to horses professionally.

Emily has competed in eventing and dressage at the local and national levels with aspirations for international competition. She has experience with all levels of horse from the “green bean” to schooled jumpers and dressage horses. She spent her working student years restarting off the track thoroughbreds for sport horse careers and has enjoyed continuing this process with many of her personal horses.

The one thing Emily loves as much as riding, is teaching others to enjoy horses to their full potential. While she developed her skills through the Pony Club system and has been actively teaching mounted and horse management lessons with Pony Club for over a decade, she enjoys working with riders of all ages and skill levels. Her positive and enthusiastic demeanor helps instill confidence in her riders in the tack and her devotion to good horse management and care is also reflected in her instruction.

  • She is also available to do training/ exercise rides. (208)-412-4417
